A don't miss Hawaiian festival
Okay, lotsa festivals in Hawaii, yeah? But this one is da best. The Waikiki Spam Jam. Saturday, April 25 on Kalakaua Avenue in Waikiki from 4:00 to 10:00 PM. There will be music, dancing, and, of course, Spam served up by some of the best restaurants in the area.
Bummer of bummers, I'm going to miss it because I'll be in the heartland, running the Oklahoma City marathon.
Guess I'll just have to content myself with a Hawaiian Spam sandwich. Here's the recipe:
Hawaiian SPAM® Sandwich(Serves 4)
Ingredients:
1 can SPAM® Classic (12-ounce), cut into 8 slices
1 can pineapple rings (8-ounce), drained
4 slices American cheese
4 hamburger buns, split and toasted
Directions
Brown SPAM® slices in skillet.
Place 2 SPAM® slices on each bottom half of hamburger bun.
Top with pineapple ring and cheese slice.
Cover sandwich with top half of bun.

I don't care what the snooty people say, I like Spam. Never tried it with pineapple, though.
