Eddie Would Go

The Eddie Aikau surf competition was held yesterday at Waimea Bay. The Eddie is the mother of all big wave contests and is only held when conditions are right for gigantic waves. Yesterday was only the eighth time it was held in the event's 25-year history. The waves were 30-40 feet with occasional waves reaching 50 feet. Are these guys nuts? A four-story wall of water falling on you will hurt. But man the pictures are great!. Look at the photo gallery on the Star Bulletin page or play the video. Talk about power!
