Hawaiian Mystery Author Victoria Nalani Kneubuhl
NPR featured a story on a new (to me) Hawaiian mystery author, Victoria Nalani Kneubuhl. You can read and listen to the story here: http://www.npr.org/2012/08/13/156625462/sleuthing-through-the-shadows-in-sunny-honolulu.
Victoria is a playwright and member of the faculty of English at the University of Hawaii, Manoa. She has written two mysteries.
Murder Casts a Shadow, 2008
Murder Leaves Its Mark, 2011
The books, published by the University of Hawaii Press, feature Ned Manusia, a playwright, and Mina Beckwith, a girl reporter for the Honolulu Bulletin. The books are set in pre-World War II Oahu and weave in both the territorial days and earlier Hawaiian history.
