Oklahoma City Marathon Update

Here are some pictures from the Oklahoma Cit Marathon which I ran with Ernie Wright, my training partner, in April. The first picture shows us at the site of the Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City. The location is now a monument to all those killed or injured in the explosion. The marathon begins there and ends nearby. Ernie and I are with the legendary Bill Rodgers, 4-time winner of both Boston and New York marathons in the 1970s. Ernie is on the left, Bill in the middle and me on the right.


The second picture shows Ernie and me about a mile and a half from the start. What I don't like about running pictures is that I've never had one of myself where I appear to be running. In all the pictures I appear to be walking or standing still with both feet on the ground as here. The woman just behind Ernie's elbow, on the other hand, is clearly running.
